Chapter 26 - A Blade and a Bottle
You hadn 't meant to go to his quarters. That was just where he happened to be.
And then, when you had arrived, you hadn 't meant to stay. At least not for as long as you had.
It had all started with a patient, some sutures, and a bag of sugar.
And somehow, it led to another 's hands roaming your thighs, a warm breath brushing across your throat, and your fingers tangled in dark brown hair.

The healed wound looked fantastic.
You gently tugged on a suture 's spindly leg, pulling it away from the skin to loosen the knot. You slipped a tiny pair of scissors underneath the tie, snipped, then pulled the catgut clean from the scout 's bicep.
'It looks so much better, ' you said with a pleased smile.
The soldier sitting on the table before you flashed a proud smile in return. 'It doesn 't hurt nearly as bad either. '
