Chapter 33 - Light in the Dark
Eren pressed his wings together as he slowly made his way through the tunnel. He hadn 't been walking for long, but his hesitant legs made the journey even slower. The passage was wide and jagged, teeming with rocks and a few crevices that had been dug out for minerals. It was silent ' except for the occasional drip of water or soft clatter of a pebble.
The amount of debris on the ground lined up with what Isabel had said. This tunnel was no longer used, and evidently, the night fairies no longer cared about clearing the path or sweeping away the gravel that had fallen from the ceiling. Eren avoided it as much as he could, but he still winced whenever his foot bumped into a rock and sent it pattering along the ground. He felt the need to be quiet despite having walked far enough that no one would hear him.
