CHAPTER XLII: Kings and Queens

Damian woke up with the sunlight warming his body, his torso and half his legs out of the sheets. He took a deep breath, stretching a little, feeling unexpectedly sore. For a moment, he wondered if he had dreamt it all ' better yet, died and gone to heaven, but the familiar and lovely scent of strawberry and vanilla, along with the remnants of other musky smells, reminded him of the previous night.
