CHAPTER XLVIII: Stardust

When Damian heard the staff move around and his brother 's voice, smothered by walls and doors, he quickly got dressed, wincing at the far deeper and harsher pain than the previous day. His bruises had turned almost black, but he didn 't bother slowing down to spare himself the throbbing sensation.

'I should be back tonight and hopefully ' '

Demetrius stopped talking when he heard Damian 's door open. His younger brother, still buttoning his shirt, made his way to his side.

'What are you doing? Go back to bed and rest, ' Demetrius told him with a frown.

Damian grabbed his jacket that had been left on a chair the previous day and put it on, swallowing back the groan of pain that built up in his throat. He looked back at his older brother with an unshakable stance and a hard gaze.

'What are you doing? ' Demetrius repeated, voice hissing dangerously.
