Chapter 4 - The Dance

'C-can you touch up my make up I want to look divine when I dance in front of my alphas. '

'Yes, Ms. Raven! ' The betas listened to every little detail that you gave them.

In truth, you were just trying to drag out the time. You should have returned after they cleaned you up but you didn 't want to go back in front of the alphas. Not yet. You were trying to get used to how much your body reacted to them. Smell alone was a challenge so you breathed their scent as much as you could to get yourself acquainted with feeling woozy. Though you knew once you entered the dance hall all your hard work was going to smack you in the face. Being in their presence 'was just something else.

'We are done, - anything else you need us to do? ' The betas waited patiently for any other criticism you had.

You dismissed them with a hand, 'Now leave me I must practice my dance one more time. '

You practiced your dance one last time, feeling confident you wouldn 't mess it up. Then you took a deep breath, you really didn 't want to go back but if you stayed away for too long Mei Mei might come hunt you down and you did not like disappointing her. 'Okay ' here we go. ' You spoke to yourself resting a hand on your heart, you could feel the heavy thumps. You made your way to the ceremonial room buuuut you took a detour. Walking along the castle side you dragged your hand on top of the stone wall. You looked out to the horses tied up in the stables. There wasn 't a person in sight. The barrier was down and your path was a straight shot. You could do this. Easy peasy. Making your way back to the ceremonial room you tried to ease your anxiety.

Deep breaths~ in and out in and out~.

As soon as you got to the two heavy doors you took a pause falling over as you caught yourself on the stone wall. Slapping a hand over your nose you groaned.

Good gracious that smell!

It made your whole body tingle. Could you ever get used to it?!

You took another quick break trying to ground yourself before entering. Hyping yourself up before you entered. Throwing air punches and being silly to get yourself distracted. 'Cha! We got this! ' Just as you entered a round of applause sounded off. It took you by surprise so you were frozen by the door. Quickly you realized everyone was clapping for Owlette who had just finished her dance. She curtesy and then made her way back to her seat.

'Where were you? '

'Ah- ' You flinched looking at Mei Mei who approached you from your blind spot. You could smell her disappointment, but you didn 't need a nose to tell you that. Her face showed it. 'I-I had to make sure my dance was flawless and I looked my best. ' You sputtered out quickly trying to hold your head up high and not cradle into yourself.

'You missed the opening dance! '

Oh, thank god.

You scoffed placing your fist on your hips much like Raven would do in the game, 'I don 't need an opening dance. My dance alone will prove to be enough. '

The woman sighed deeply as she moved you to your seat. 'I don 't know what has been going on with you but you better get it together. It 's like you don 't want to be prime omega! '

Well, she would be correct.

'How could you say that? It 's been my dream! ' You tried to sound as appalled as possible.

'I only tell you this to help you, girl! If you want that position then you better perform your best and be the best! '

'This is just a little setback. '

'No more setbacks Raven. '

Geeze was Mei Mei this hard on Raven in the game? No wonder why the girl strives for perfection. Mei Mei didn 't allow for anything less.

You were sat at the table with Dove, Fox, and Kitten. It seemed the solo dances had just started because the next person to stand was Bambi. Looking over the tables you counted to see that you had plenty of time before it was your turn. Thank goodness. As Bambi 's dance began you took this moment to gaze at the god-like men for the first time you entered the room. Looking up at the alphas you nearly fell out of your seat. They looked

magnificent

sitting in their thrones. Sukuna sat in his chair with an air of aloofness. Foot resting on his knee while he leaned his cheek against his fist. Truthfully he looked bored while watching Bambi dance. Toji almost matched Sukuna, but he was slouching in his chair with a spread of his large legs. Kimono spread open, looking so good you just wanted to crawl on him and lick his- ack!

Don 't think like that don 't think like that!

You quickly shut your mind down from lewd thoughts. Before looking back at Toji. The male seemed bored. Nanami sat up straight, poster perfect. He was the only one truly paying attention. Then your eyes drifted to Gojo- who was looking at you as he whispered to Getou. Who was also looking at you. When you made eye contact with them they smirked and you nearly died for the umpteenth time tonight. Quickly you dropped your gaze as your heart skipped a beat.

Why were they looking at you? Shouldn 't they be watching the dance?!

'Are you feeling okay? '

'Yes! ' You spoke before you knew who was talking to you. Blinking up you realized it was Dove. She seemed surprised by your quick response and not at all convinced. 'I mean ' ' you took a deep breath. 'I just ' feel really embarrassed... I made a complete fool out of myself for our first meeting and I even missed the opening dance. '

Dove smiled sweetly at you, 'Don 't beat yourself up too much, the alphas do smell delicious, and to have them touch you like

that,

I 'm sure any omega would have been weak. You are just a little more ' sensitive. ' She giggled softly as you nodded your head with a light giggle of your own. She could say that again. You just weren 't used to being an omega. Everyone around had been an omega their whole lives, this was nothing new to them but for you?! Nope this was super new.

'I can 't help it. When they ' touched me here ' ' you swallowed tapping your scent gland on your neck. It didn 't tingle when you touched it, not like when they did. 'It was ' I dunno ' '

'The scent gland on the neck is the second most sensitive gland. The most sensitive one is the thighs. '

'Well it 's a good thing they didn 't touch me there I probably would have blacked out. ' You mumbled as Dove let out another cute laugh. She was so pretty and sweet you forgot how mean you should be to her. She was the only one out of all the omegas that have talked to you, despite her being Raven's biggest target to dish out her frustration on. She must have seen right through you, noticed the change immediately. You couldn 't pretend to be Raven if you weren 't going out of your way making Dove 's life miserable, but that wasn 't you. You didn 't have a mean bone in your body. 'Hopefully I don 't make a fool out of myself for this dance. ' You sighed deeply, you had practiced your dance enough. With your flexible body, all those dance routines you played in your head became a reality so it may have been the one thing you were excited for. Not like they 'd pick you anyway, bad or good.

'You know '. ' Dove began, your eyes were on the next dancer Tigress, she was so fierce in her movements and absolutely stunning, but you hummed showing Dove you were listening. Half listening to be fair ' 'You were the only omega they did that too. '

Your brow furrowed as you looked at her, 'Did what ' uh- oh that ' ' The licking and teasing is what she meant. Yeah, that didn 't happen in the game either. 'I 'm sure it went better for everyone else. '

'Well 'after you left they said they had enough. They didn 't finish. '

That took you by surprise, 'What? Th-they stopped? Why? '

Dove shrugged, 'I don 't know. '

Your head was now spinning. No wonder you missed the opening dance, they had stopped their introduction right after you left. That led you to your next question, 'Did ' did they do their introduction with you? '

Dove gave you a pained smile, 'No. '

You felt your heart shatter, your brows pinching in sorrow, 'I-I 'm so sorry Dove. '

The omega waved her hand as if to push your worries away, 'It 's not your fault. '

That 's where she was wrong. It

was

your fault. You weren 't the real Raven. Everything is starting to fuck up. All of this was your fault. If you weren 't here she would have had her introduction. If you weren 't here Raven would be the nasty bitch she always had been. If you weren 't here '.None of this would be happening. You were messing everything up ' big time.

The dances continued and every time one ended you would applaud, but you weren 't really paying attention. Everything Dove said kept replaying in your head. Everything leading up until now. Once it was finally your turn you felt your stomach flip.

'Good luck Raven. ' Dove cheered you on.

Your bare feet padded along the cool gold tiles as you made your way to the center of the room. The spotlight was on you now. You could barely raise your head to meet the alpha's gaze. When you did Gojo and Getou wore their cocky grins. Sukuna only lowered his eyes at you and Toji looked indifferent. Nanami you could never tell what his marble expression was giving. You enjoyed their image, burning it into your mind because this would be the last time you see them.

'M-my alphas. ' You bowed your head politely, 'I hope you enjoy my dance ' ' You could feel your skin prickle. Feel their eyes on you. And as you looked back to the omegas one last time you could see Dove smile sweetly at you. Within that moment you had decided to throw it all away. You had no time to persuade yourself otherwise. As your song started playing you threw caution to the wind and started doing whatever. As you flipped and kicked and sashay and hip and hopped around you could hear a few gasps in the audience. This was not the dance you had practiced. You don 't know what you were doing if you were being honest. You just moved and kept your eyes down, never once looking at the alphas. You finished with an exaggerated pose. As the music stopped the deafening silence was so loud you could hear your heartbeat in your ears.

Then the room exploded in laughter. Standing up straight you bowed deeply and then scurried off past the tables.

'Raven! ' Someone called to you but you didn 't focus on it the noise of the others were too loud. You could hear the other omegas questioning your routine.

'

What was that? '

'

I never seen anything like that? '

'

Did you see the way she shook her ass? '

'

So unlady-like! '

You had stopped at the door, looking over at Mei Mei as a look of horror and confusion and then finally nothing crossed her face. She looked away before shaking her head in shame? In disappointment? Perhaps disbelief. Your face was hot as you pushed open the doors, leaving out. You felt like your body was vibrating. You just made a complete and utter fool of yourself and not even Mei Mei had the gull to say anything. It all didn 't matter anyhow. As you walked your walk turned into scurrying and then full-blown running, lifting your belly dancer outfit you scampered down the hall and past the garden. Past the rooms. Past everything. You weren 't going to dwell too much on what just happened.

Freedom

. Now was the time of freedom.

Dove will do her dance and captivate the audience. They will forget all about you and your stupid dance. Hell, maybe they will appreciate Dove's dance even more! Who cares! You giggled like a wild woman, blood pumping in your veins. Reaching up to your collar '

Feiro

' rolled off your tongue as you burnt it off and tossed it to the side. You then slapped your hand upon each scent gland '

Geleita

! ' you covered your skin with clear thin gel so no one could smell you. This is the moment you 've been waiting for. You could see the dark forest in front of you. Beckoning you with its swaying motion. Leaping off the side of the castle wall you shouted '

Laveita

! ' And floated all the way to the ground gracefully with feather-like sparkles around you. Once upon the ground, you took off again. Heat thundering in your chest. You only had one chance of this. You made it to the stables and unwrapped the leather strap from the wooden pole with excited fingers. The brown-spotted horse snorted as it began to trot next to you shaking its head. 'Sorry for disturbing your sleep. ' You murmured to the horse as you pulled on it to the front gate. Just as you rounded the corner you paused seeing Miwa panting, hands on her knees.

You gasped, eyes wide. You looked at the open gate that was just behind her. Freedom was but a step away. What was Miwa doing here?

'I finally caught-ha up with you ha- ' she caught her breath then laughed as she stood up straight but then she looked surprised. 'Are you ' going somewhere? '

'Oh ' this '? ' you chuckle nervously, 'um 'just a little midnight ride ' haha 'what are you doing here? '

The blue-haired woman 's eyes went from the horse to you but then they softened a bit, 'I just ' wanted to say thank you. The list that you gave me ' all the alphas liked their meals. Sukuna especially was very pleased to have eaten his. They had appointed me their head chef ' it 's all thanks to you. '

You felt a wave of relief despite your situation. 'I 'm so glad! ' You smiled sweetly. 'Just remember all the things I told you and you should be fine okay? '

'Yeah ' they asked me how I knew what each of them liked 'I told them a little birdie told me ' ' Miwa had laughed but it was much too soft to be full of happiness. Her eyes kept shifting nervously to the horse next to you.

No omega has ever tried to escape but cleary it is still an unspoken rule. A rule no one would be dumb enough to break. Every omega wanted an alpha. One that could protect them and make them plump with pups. Staying in the castle was a dream come true because some day that would happen. Even if the alphas don 't pick them, they still had a chance with a prestige alpha. Not you. You would be stuck with Mahito. You needed to return home. This was not your dream. This wasn 't even your world.

Your lips pulled into a soft smile. You didn 't like this situation. If Mei Mei looks for you tomorrow they will question everyone. If Miwa 'withholds this information she can get in a lot of trouble. It would be wise for her to tell someone immediately. You didn 't have it in you to ask Miwa not to tell. You would be putting her in danger. You walked up to her releasing the horse 's straps. 'Miwa ' '

'I won 't tell anyone ' '

You shook your head, eyes softening, 'No, you must, you must tell them as soon as you can 'when you wake up. '

'What- '

'

Slumba

. ' With a wave of your hand, the woman 's eyes closed and you quickly caught her before she could hit the dirt. Dragging her to the side you laid her out on the grass, caressing her forehead gently. You hoped she 'd go far as a chef and not get herself killed.

Quickly you ran to your horse and jumped onto it, it piter patted a few times before you grabbed onto the reins and snapped them, the horse darting off onto the dirt path. Looking over your shoulder you watched as the castle got further and further away. Then you smiled brightly returning your gaze to the road ahead. 'Hiya! ' You whipped the reins disappearing into the shadows of the forest. You did it! You escaped! A giggle bubbles up from your chest as you celebrate your victory! Wind passed by you as you felt like a runaway princess with your dancer garments blowing in the wind behind you. The moon painting a path for you as you charged forward to your new chapter.

Little did you know, a floating sphere had been watching you 'the

entire

time.
