Chapter 97 - when the wind changes (to the whims of the circus)
There is no reason for anything to happen at Sabaody Archipelago right now. But, something certainly is, even insignificant as it seems to the bigger picture of things.
Seated upon a cafe near one of the streets, enjoying a cup of coffee and a good book ' Bartholomew Kuma is off duty and simply enjoying his time, doing nothing at all. He draws attention, of course, but seeing as this is near a marine base, he 's peaceful, and he 's well-known to be rather silent and eccentric, the passers-by have all deigned to leave him to his own devices after a few gawks.
Kuma, too, simply sits there, undisturbed.
'Hey, there. '
Until he 's disturbed.
The woman hadn 't been there a moment ago ' yet, she sits, casually, on the seat opposite his. As if she 'd been there the whole time.
Kuma needs a moment to recognize her. It 's been a while since she 's retired from piracy, after all ' she 's all but stricken from the records.
