Chapter 30 - all the days of my life
There 's a hum in her ears.
'Anna. '
It 's a gentle, distant buzz. Constant and clear, but not annoying. Instead, it casts a spell over her, lulling her with ease as warmth seeps through her.
'Anna. '
A name she hasn 't heard in a while. Is it even her name anymore? What makes a name, a name?
'Anna! '
She pries her lids open. The crust of sleep and the feel of buttery sunlight forces squinty blinks out of her before the earth unblurs. A freckled redhead stares down at her 'her face the spitting image of Anna 's, as if the sky is a mirror and she 's gazing up into it 'jaw misaligned in vexation.
Braids fall over both her doppelganger 's shoulders, but she flips them over her back as she straightens, rolling her eyes with a huff. 'God, I could 've sworn you 'd died. Hurry and get up! Ma told us to sell everything at the market, which means we have to get an early start. '
