The Hokage office was quiet. The calm before the storm. Hiruzen had spent the last week going over and over his outburst on the training field. The words he'd said to Naruto constantly bounced back and forth in his head. The broken and terrified face of the boy he was supposed to take care of was seen on every reflective surface. Would he ever take Naruto out of the only home he'd ever known? Of course not. Grief makes people do terrible things, but Hiruzen knew that was not an excuse. There was a chance Naruto would never forgive him. It would be well warranted.
