As a teacher who had taught more classrooms full of children than he cared to think about, Iruka knew almost everyone in the village. If anyone in the village were even distantly connected to a child who had come through the academy in the last decade it was pretty much guaranteed that Iruka had had contact with them for one reason or another. Knowing so many people, he was aware of just how stacked the odds were that one would not be able to find one 's soulmate before reaching the age of twenty.

Defying those odds in the best possible way, Iruka had found his before he was fifteen.
