Kakashi and Yamato noticed rather early on that their marks were almost a perfect match. Only almost, however. There were spaces just at the edge of both marks which clearly were meant to be filled in with something else that simply wasn 't there between them. It happened more often than romantic films liked to admit, this almost-but-not-quite kind of close call that left one reeling in disappointment and hanging on to nothing.
