Madara scowled as he kicked at the rocks along the riverbank. He wasn 't actually upset in any way but if he couldn 't smile then he might as well frown; such a happy feeling in his chest demanded that he make at least some sort of expression. Frowning was the best he could manage right now.

He was actually sort of grateful for his dour expression when the person he 'd been waiting for finally dropped down on the opposite bank. It simply wouldn 't do for someone as goofy as Hashirama to know that Madara was happy to see him. That would just be embarrassing. No, better to continue frowning so his new friend didn 't get any funny ideas about him caring or anything.
