Chapter 52 - Chapter Fifty Two
Eneru takes us right to Robin.
Because of course he does, the fucking prick. We land up on a broken wall of the ruins of Shandora, and my breath momentarily leaves my body. The huge ruins are beyond majestic, the temple that reminds me vaguely of Tenochtitlan sits silent and majestic in the middle, and the tall beanstalk Giant Jack spears through the ground and rises through the cloud layer nearby.
When I finally finish aweing at the ancient city and start paying real attention to our immediate surroundings, I instantly spot where Robin is inspecting some half grown-over railway tracks.
Eneru laughs at her mumbling to herself, alerting her to our presence even though she doesn 't turn around. 'Impressive, isn 't it? That a city can persist even in such a place. My idiot predecessor didn 't even notice it, ' he drawls.
