Zoro wasn't the kind of person to take things for granted. He was honest, sure of himself, and steadfast in his decisions regarding himself and Luffy. There were few things that weighed heavily on him that were outside of his immediate objective of becoming the world's greatest swordsman. As long as he could support his crew and his captain, there wasn't much that could make him stumble.

That's why this raging jealousy that had been eating him up inside was so damn confusing. He knew the feeling the second it appeared for the first time. The last time he experienced feelings of jealousy were towards his childhood friend, the one person who led him to his current ambitions, his dream. So, to be experiencing it again after all this time was certainly shocking, if not downright upsetting.
