Chapter 18 - A Room with a View
He kept the window of the study always open.
It wasn 't because he needed fresh air. It was because of the view.
At a small distance there was a big oak tree. And under that tree there was an unmarked grave only he knew about.
It was the grave of man who had almost killed him.
It was a silly reassurance, but every time he was in the study, he needed to make sure that man was still there 'dead and buried.
It had been years, but he could still remember his crazy eyes and surprising strength.
He had buried him there himself, without any help, in the middle of a moonless night. Even though it had been years, he could still feel his hands burning as he dug deeper and deeper into the earth 'always watching the corpse, feeling scared he might come back to life before he could bury him, terrified that someone would see him.
