The sunlight hits Sirius 's back earlier than it usually does. Whereas his quarters are so high up the sun rises a bit later there, Erwin 's are situated close to the ground.

Sirius is not used to such a hard mattress underneath his back but as he slowly wakes up, it takes him a moment to realise it 's not just the mattress that 's giving his lower back that dull ache.

When his eyes crack open, he slowly registers that he 's pressed against someone 's chest. That someone is breathing steadily, a buff arm draped over his back and a large hand resting on the dip of his waist.

It all takes a moment to register. When it does, he gasps and springs up.

He looks at Erwin. The man is already awake, calmly staring at the ceiling. He must 've woken up a while ago but decided to stay still to not disturb Sirius 's slumber.
