A collection of seven fantasy books with ornate, colorful covers arranged on a white crumpled sheet. The image conveys a whimsical, magical tone.

I am SO BEHIND on my reading goals this year! Honestly, I’ve been in a massive reading slump since I finished The Hunger Games re-read last month. I just stopped picking up new stories because nothing sparked that magical joy. But, I am officially back with a vengeance!

I have spent weeks scouring the internet for the best fiction fantasy novels to add to my TBR (To Be Read) pile. I wanted a mix of classic favorites and brand-new hidden gems. Therefore, I’ve rounded up a list that will keep us all busy for months!

There are SO MANY incredible worlds to explore here. From dark fae courts to werewolf romances, this list has it all. I’ve included some major hits you might know and some exclusive web novels you can find on the MistNovel.

I’d love to know your favorites! Jump to the comments and let me know which one you are starting first!

1 // Throne of Glass

Okay, we have to start with the queen herself, Sarah J. Maas. This series follows Celaena Sardothien, a teenage assassin in a corrupt kingdom. I love a strong female lead who can actually fight! If you love high stakes and epic world-building, this is the gold standard.

2 // A Feast for the Alpha

I found this gem on MistNovel and I am hooked! It starts with a mysterious one-night stand and turns into a high-stakes werewolf drama. Emma, the main character, is a struggling single mother who ends up working for the very Alpha she slept with years ago. The tension is unreal!

A couple stands confidently on a snowy rooftop at dusk, with a wolf's silhouette in the background. Their expressions are intense and determined. The scene feels dramatic and mysterious. Text reads "A Feast for the Alpha."

3 // The Cruel Prince

I am weak for enemies-to-lovers, and Jude and Cardan deliver the angst perfectly. A mortal girl trying to survive in a terrifying, beautiful Faerie court? Yes, please. However, be warned: the fae here are actually scary, not just sparkly.

This title alone made me click instantly. Ivy is trapped in a time loop where she tries to dump her possessive vampire boyfriend, Hendery, but keeps dying at midnight. It is Groundhog Day meets dark fantasy romance. She has to learn combat skills over dozens of loops to save the monster she loves.

6 // Our Hate is a Mating Curse

This is for the readers who want real tension. Lilith is a necromancer, and Damian uses elemental magic. Their families have been enemies for centuries. However, a magical blight forces them into a ritual that requires intimacy to work. It’s messy, it’s magical, and the hate-lust is off the charts. 8 // The Villainess Rewrites Her Ending

I love a good “reborn as the villain” story! In this MistNovel exclusive, a college student wakes up inside a dating sim game. However, she is the hated villainess, Emily, who is destined to die. She has to use her knowledge of the game to survive and win over the male leads.

10 // To Seduce a Saint

Wren is a snake demon queen, and Michael is a holy knight. Due to a magical accident, they get soul-bound together. A demon and a paladin forced to share feelings? The banter in this MistNovel story is going to be top-tier.

11 // Shatter Me

This series has been on my shelf for years! Book 1 gave me major X-Men vibes with the “touch kills” trope. I have heard the character development for Warner is insane, so I have to continue. In a world divided by blood-red for commoners, silver for elites-Mare Barrow is an anomaly. She is a Red with Silver abilities. The betrayal in this book still hurts my heart! It is perfect for fans of dystopian fantasy.
